As real wages decrease, cuts to nurses and police
Oh who can we trust?

Oh who can we trust?

So hollow are words, everyday that are heard
Oh who can we trust?

To make you look up, while below is so corrupt
Oh who can we trust?

Social media experts, who want the last word, with little research, they bluff
So many different views, mixed with fake news
Oh who can we trust?

With new technology, deepfakes algorithmically, to deceive you and me, oh it’s tough
Photo manipulation, a whole artificial nation
Oh who can we trust?

The war’s no longer cold, new lies we’re being told, the Middle East we’re sold to fear and not love
So much misinformation, that hits with direct precision
Oh who can we trust?

I sit here in my garden, locked down for the moment, try to keep my mind open, and not bust
I have no real idea, about what’s going on here
Oh who can we trust?
